PROS

  1. Massive and highly functional cover display: The large 4.0-inch external pOLED display is extremely useful, allowing users to run most apps and manage notifications without opening the phone.
  2. Flagship-level processor: Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, the phone offers smooth performance for both daily tasks and gaming.
  3. Excellent durability and water resistance: Features an IPX8 water resistance rating (can be submerged in water up to 1.5m for 30 minutes) and durable Gorilla Glass Victus on the cover screen.
  4. Minimal display crease: The internal 6.9-inch pOLED display has a nearly unnoticeable crease, which fades into the background when the screen is on.
  5. High-quality main camera with telephoto lens: Includes a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP 2x optical telephoto lens, delivering good detail and versatile shooting options for portraits.
  6. Ample RAM and fast storage: Comes with 12GB of RAM and fast 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, which aids in smooth multitasking and quick app loading.
  7. Sleek and premium design: The thin and lightweight design, coupled with attractive vegan leather finishes, feels comfortable in the hand and looks great.
  8. Vibrant, bright displays: Both the internal (up to 3000 nits peak brightness) and external (up to 2400 nits) displays are incredibly bright, sharp, and support high refresh rates (up to 165Hz on both).
  9. Decent battery life with fast charging: The 4,000mAh battery can last all day, and it supports 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
  10. Useful software features: Runs on a clean, near-stock Android 14 experience, retaining popular Motorola gestures and adding new AI-powered features like generative wallpapers.

CONS

  1. No ultra-wide camera lens: The rear camera setup lacks an ultra-wide lens, which limits options for landscape shots.
  2. Limited software update policy: Motorola only promises two or three major OS updates and three or four years of security patches, which is less than what competitors like Samsung and Google offer.
  3. Charger not always included in the box: In some regions, the 45W charging adapter is not included, despite the phone supporting faster charging speeds.
  4. Some app compatibility issues on cover screen: While functional, some third-party apps may not be fully optimized for the external screen's shape, leading to awkward cropping.
  5. Camera processing can be inconsistent: Photos may occasionally appear oversaturated or "smudged" due to aggressive post-processing, especially in low light conditions.
  6. Gets warm under heavy use: The phone can get noticeably warm during extended periods of intense gaming or 4K video recording, leading to potential thermal throttling.
  7. No official dust resistance rating: While water-resistant, it lacks an official IP rating for dust resistance, which is a concern for a foldable device.
  8. No expandable storage: There is no microSD card slot to expand the internal storage.
  9. No 3.5mm headphone jack: The device lacks a traditional headphone jack.
  10. Can be hard to open with one hand: Despite a redesigned hinge, some users find it still requires effort to open the phone one-handed.
