PROS

  1. Powerful Dual-Core Processor: Included a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor which was extremely fast for its time.
  2. Generous RAM: It was one of the first Android smartphones to feature 1GB of RAM for smooth multitasking.
  3. High-Resolution Screen: Featured a qHD (540x960) display that was noticeably sharper than rivals.
  4. Innovative Webtop Capabilities: Could transform into a desktop/laptop interface via optional docks.
  5. Fingerprint Scanner: Provided unique, secure, and convenient biometric security on the power button.
  6. Large Battery Capacity: Packed a 1930mAh battery, which was large for its time, providing solid battery life.
  7. HDMI Output: Included a Micro-HDMI port for direct 720p/1080p video output to TVs.
  8. Expandable Storage: Supported microSD cards up to 32GB (expandable to 48GB total).
  9. Solid Build Quality: The phone had a sturdy, dense, and premium plastic feel with a soft-touch back.
  10. Good Call Quality: Offered clear voice calls and a loud, effective speakerphone.

CONS

  1. Software Instability: Shipped with buggy Motoblur software that caused lag and, in some cases, forced reboots.
  2. Locked Bootloader: Initially made it difficult for users to install custom ROMs or root the device.
  3. Subpar Camera Performance: The 5MP camera produced average to below-average images with poor low-light performance.
  4. Overpriced Accessories: The Laptop Dock and HD Dock were expensive, making the "Webtop" experience costly.
  5. Screen Brightness Issues: The PenTile LCD display was not very bright, leading to poor outdoor visibility.
  6. Poor Front Camera: Featured a low-resolution VGA front camera that was mostly useless for quality video calls.
  7. Overheating: The device and battery tended to get warm during intensive use or charging.
  8. Weak 4G Speeds: Despite the "4G" branding, it used HSPA+ 14.4 speeds that were closer to 3G.
  9. Screen Ratio Incompatibility: The qHD screen created black bars on some apps designed for lower resolutions.
  10. No Dedicated Camera Button: Users had to rely on on-screen controls to take photos.
